Brooks Maguire EPK
Maui-based Americana singer-songwriter and Nashville recording artist. Six albums. Fifty years of performing. One unforgettable live show.
About Brooks Maguire
Brooks Maguire has been making music for fifty years. That's not a marketing line — it's just the truth. From the gospel churches of Texas and Louisiana to the honky-tonks of Austin, from the stages of Front Street Lahaina to the studios of Nashville, Brooks has spent a lifetime turning experience into song.
Born and raised on the Gulf Coast, Brooks grew up surrounded by gospel singers and the rich gumbo of Texas and Louisiana — blues, country, soul, rock, and folk all running together. He began performing in Austin, honing a style that was never quite one thing: too country for the rock crowd, too soulful for the country crowd, and exactly right for anyone who just wanted to feel something.
In 1984, Brooks survived a near-fatal accident in Houston that left him close to losing both legs. He recovered. In 1987, he moved to Maui — and never left. He spent years as a featured performer on Front Street in historic Lahaina, building a following from a worldwide audience of visitors and locals alike. Nearly 38 years later, Maui is home.
His six-album catalog spans his independent debut Dream of a Girl (1996) through The Nashville Sessions 2014–2022 — a career-spanning compilation that captures a decade of his finest recorded work. His three Nashville albums were produced by veteran hit-maker Joe Beck and recorded with A-list session musicians, with collaborators including guitar legend Phil Keaggy, Muscle Shoals guitarist Will McFarlane, and multi-platinum songwriter Bill Shore.
The press has taken notice. Vents Magazine called Comeback King "a solid set of songs with a deeply felt and artistically delivered message." Skope Magazine gave it a 9 out of 10. Jango Radio named him a Center Stage Artist and awarded "Surfin' With Santa" Grand Prize in their 2016 Holiday Song Contest — chosen from several hundred entries.
Today Brooks performs every Saturday at Ohana's Island Bistro in Kihei, Maui, and is bringing his 2026 Homecoming Reunion Tour to intimate house concerts across the continental U.S. The songs are still the thing. The stories behind them even more so.
